Membership Benefits
Access to a FRIA designated field
HCAM members can fly their models at our field without meeting the FAA required remote ID requirements.
In addition, our member don’t have to coordinate with the FAA for a LAANC airspace authorization.
Access to the HCAM Members Information
Full Members get access to the HCAM Members page where they can view the Member Directory, Meeting Minutes and presentations, and User Profile page where you can edit your personal information and change your password.
New members will receive an email with your login information. If you joined and haven’t received access, please contact one of the web masters.
Flight Instruction
The Hill Country AeroModelers offers free flight instruction to members. Members must have both current HCAM membership and current full or Junior AMA membership. The “Aeromodelers” currently have many qualified flight instructors who instruct on a voluntary basis; whose availability is governed by work and personal constraints. See the Training page for more information.
Membership Options
Regular Membership
- Includes full access to the flying field
- Free flight training
- A regular membership includes voting privileges on club issues.
- A bulk family discount is available for multiple new members in the same household joining at the same time. The cost to cover all family members is $180 (one and one half a regular membership).
- All new regular members joining after June 30th will have dues reduced to $60 for the remainder of the year with family membership being reduced to $90 for the remainder of the year.
Associate Membership
- Includes full access to the flying field
- Free flight training
- Associate membership does not include voting rights on club issues.
- Associate memberships are not prorated.
Youth Membership
- Includes full access to the flying field
- Free flight training
- Age must be 18 or less
- Youth membership does not include voting privileges on club issues.
Join or Renew
Overview
The buttons below will take you through the process of joining as a new member or renewing membership for existing members.
The first step is to choose whether you are joining as a new member or renewing an existing membership. If joining, you will also select a membership category so we can collect appropriate information.
The second step in the process is to collect and possibly update profile information. This includes name, address, phone number, email address, AMA number, and age verification.
The third step is to read the current ByLaws and Safety Rules and agree to abide by them.
The last step is to pay for the membership. Payment can be made through PayPal or by mailing a check. If paying with PayPal, you will need to re-enter the name and AMA # used in the second step so we can match payment to membership. This will be covered in detail in the last step.
Once your application is processed, you will be notified, by separate email messages, of your membership information, gate access code, and website login ID.
New members must click the Join button below, while renewing members must click the Renew button below. Note: you are considered a new member if you have not been a member within the past 24 months.
For family discounts, enter the oldest/primary family member first (usually a parent), then add subsequent family members, with the youngest last.
All renewing members must login before clicking the Renew button. If you have trouble logging in, please contact the webmaster.
